Meditation #2 Patience
By Betty Bassett
"Feel lightness and length of the spine.
Give yourself a moment to just settle and be comfortable.
Give yourself permission to be right here, right now. Be present in this moment just as you are.
Sometimes life moves at a fast pace. Some we disappoint ourselves or circumstances disappoint us. We might feel frustrated or annoyed. Look for patience. Release the frustration. Experience being in the present moment and release the feeling. Find the patience that is within you.
Bring your awareness to your skin.
Notice the feel of the air. How does it feel as it makes contact with your skin? Bring stillness to your body. Let go of anything aggressive and just relaxation. Begin with the feet. Bring awareness to the soles of your feet and then to the tops of your feet. Begin to relax. Allow your ankles to soften. Feel your lower legs and then your upper legs becoming heavy. Let your belly soften. Now release the muscles of your lower back. Let the muscles in the mid back ease. Invite your shoulders to soften. Let your hands and fingers relax. Let the neck muscles soften. Bring your awareness to your breath.
With every inhale your body is relaxing. With every exhale your body is softening.
Watch the rise and fall of the breath.
If the mind starts to wander off just gently bring it back to awareness of the breath.
Notice any thoughts you might have. Observing them and then let them go. Observe the rhythm of the breath. Watch the rise and fall.
Bring your attention back to your body.
Notice the sounds around you.
Open the Eyes.
Remember to practice patience when reality does not align with. expectation. Loosen your grip on how your desire to be in complete control of everything. It's okay to let things be as they are. Breathe. There is a gentle way to get what you want in this world."
